Guild Wars 2's has been in development for four years and while a release date isn't locked in, developer ArenaNet is feeling "really good" about progress on the game, it's told NowGamer.

"We're in closed alpha right now, and we've announced cheap gw2 gold that were going to go into closed beta before the end of the year," lead content designer, Colin Johanson told us. "Based on the outcome of the closed beta, that will determine when we go to open beta. The outcome  KNzJ750v of the open beta will determine the final release date. But right now, we're feeling really good about it."

The MMORPG is an ambitious undertaking, featuring impressive new visuals, a persistent world which reacts to player actions and no subscrition fees, supported by micropayments instead.

"If you look at the people who have done free  gw2 gold for sale to play, generally it's a game that was already out and charged a monthly fee, and then they swapped over to free to play, then went heavily microtransaction based to make their money back. Or they give you free to play for the first 30 or 40 levels, (Guild Wars 2 Gold)and then you have to start paying," added Johanson.

"Guild Wars 2 is neither of those things. We don't load up with microtransactions that you have to buy to be more powerful than anyone else. All our microtransactions on our store - just like in GW1 - are purely cosmetic. They're bonus things, you don't have to buy them, it's your choice."

When Guild Wars 2 finally does launch into open beta, you'll be the first to know.
